The Royal Australian Airforce Base in Amberley is undergoing significant upgrades to cater for its expanding fleet. The upgrades consist of new aprons, a hangar and associated infra-structure.
Stanley Road Construction was sub-contracted to assist BMD under the C-17 Maintenance Facility Contract on the construction of a new Aircraft concrete apron. The works involved the laying of CTB (Type 2.3 CTCMR Gravel) to a specific depth of 150mm with extremely tight tolerances and a time limits. This was achieved with the assistance of a track mounted paver fitted with high compaction screed and Trimble 3D paving system
The program started in July 2017 and continued to February 2018.
