Stanley Roads are leading the way in Australia with “Next Generation Asphalt Technologies” to improve roads, change industry behaviour and develop next generation pavement recycling practice. The development of the resource recovery and recycling plant will provide the latest innovation to Queensland’s waste management industry, a significant reduction of waste stockpiles at landfills, recycling in commercial practice, job development opportunities and substantial environmental benefits in reduced natural resource extract, waste reduction and energy consumption.
Recycling can potentially play an important role in substituting for virgin resources, which is even more valuable because often it has a proximity advantage to the place of demand. A recycling centre is well located to both receive C&D materials for processing and supply them. This serves the dual purpose of substituting for virgin materials and removing a potential waste product.
Stanley Roads will be able to take out any existing road under rehabilitation, and after treatment within this process, will be able re-use all of the washed materials for manufacturing new asphalt or road sub-base.
