Traditionally, natural aggregates are crushed or uncrushed materials such as sand, gravels or stones, derived from the natural sources like river terraces, riverbeds, glacial deposits or rocks and boulders, these are quarried and used in the production of road-base for road maintenance, road construction and building construction.

Stanley Roads will source, sort, wash and re-sell, re-claimed road sub-base aggregate, and construction waste, which normally ends up in landfill. Stanley Roads will be able to take out any existing road under rehabilitation, and after treatment within this process, will be able re-use all of the washed materials for manufacturing new asphalt or road sub-base.

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement
Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is the term given to removed and/or reprocessed pavement materials containing asphalt and aggregates. These materials are generated when asphalt pavements are removed for reconstruction, resurfacing, or to obtain access to buried utilities. When properly crushed and screened, RAP consists of high-quality, well-graded aggregates coated by asphalt bitumen. All of which, can be reclaimed and recycled.

Roadbase materials must conform to the Technical Specification Transport and Main Roads Specification MRTS05 Unbound Pavements November 2018. A range of materials available

Type 2 - A high quality unbound granular pavement material, for use in base, sub-base and lower pavement layers, commonly used in wet environments.

CBR15 - 19mm
CBR 80 - 20mm
Roadbase Type 2.3
Roadbase Type 2.5

Type 3 - Similar to Type 2, except intended for use in relatively dry environments only where the pavement equilibrium moisture content is low


Cover aggregate and prime cover material for use in sprayed bituminous treatments, and the construction of stockpile sites for storage of cover aggregate.

Coarse aggregates consist of crushed fragments that are clean, sound, hard, durable, and angular and free from laminated particles, clay and other aggregations of fine material, soil, organic matter. Aggregates used in subbase applications generally consist of sand and gravel, crushed stone or quarry rock, or other hard, durable material of mineral origin with the amount of fines limited to promote drainage.
