Resource Recovery:

Developing a more innovative road construction industry, with focus on sustainable roads utilising resource efficient materials

resource recovery

how our resource recovery works

Traditionally, natural aggregates are crushed or uncrushed materials such as sand, gravels or stones, derived from the natural sources like river terraces, riverbeds, glacial deposits or rocks and boulders, these are quarried and used in the production of road-base for road maintenance, road construction and building construction.

Stanley Roads will source, sort, wash and re-sell, re-claimed road sub-base aggregate, and construction waste, which normally ends up in landfill. Stanley Roads will be able to take out any existing road under rehabilitation, and after treatment within this process, will be able re-use all of the washed materials for manufacturing new asphalt or road sub-base.

What Makes Stanley Roads Different?

traditional recycling method

Current technology in waste segregation creates extensive volumes of water wastage and reliance on settlement ponds.

our equipment

Leading technology in waste aggregate reprocessing, enabling road aggregate along with other possible Construction and Demolition waste to be crushed, screened, and washed to deliver recycled aggregates of various sizes for re-use in road construction as well as other building requirements.

Powerscreen® Trakpactor 320SR Horizontal Impactor

Highly compact tracked crusher designed to offer both excellent reduction and high consistency of product yield. Optimum performance in recycling applications and compact design and mobility. Output potential: 320 tph

Powerscreen® Chieftain 1700 2 Deck

Mid-sized track mobile screen aimed at end users requiring high volumes of finished products in applications including topsoil, coal, crushed stone, recycling, iron ore, sand and gravel.
Output potential up to 550tph.

Powerscreen® 1000 Maxtrak Cone Crusher

The high performance, portable rock crusher has been designed for direct feed applications without pre-screening on clean rock. At its heart is the Automax® cone crusher which provides an excellent reduction and product cubicity for the production of high quality aggregate and sub-base material.

Terex TWS M1700 Mobile Rinsing Unit

Fully mobile wash system with three screen decks, capable of producing up to 5 products at a time.

Designed with environmental considerations in mind

  • Hydraulically operated clutch & highly fuel efficient direct drive system
  • Dust Suppression System consisting of Spray bars with atomiser nozzles mounted over the product conveyor feed & discharge points, piped to an inlet manifold for water supply
  • Latest generation powerunits that meet EU Stage IIIA / US Tier 3 emissions legislation

The Benefits

Stanley Resource Recovery’s next generation resource recovery and recycling development provides the latest innovation to Queensland’s waste management industry.

  • More Cost-effective than sending unwanted materials to Landfill and incurring landfill tax and transport costs
  • Conserving natural resources by decreasing the demand for virgin materials
  • Protecting local ecosystems and maintaining biodiversity levels
  • Reducing energy consumption, transport emissions and disposal of waste to landfill
  • Reducing road haulage activities and therefore reducing road congestion and increasing road safety

our products

RAP

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement
Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is the term given to removed and/or reprocessed pavement materials containing asphalt and aggregates. These materials are generated when asphalt pavements are removed for reconstruction, resurfacing, or to obtain access to buried utilities. When properly crushed and screened, RAP consists of high-quality, well-graded aggregates coated by asphalt bitumen. All of which, can be reclaimed and recycled.

A range of materials available:
Class 1 RAP
Class 2 RAP

RAP material must conform to the Technical Specification Transport and Main Roads Specification MRTS102 Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement Material March 2019

ROADBASE

Roadbase materials must conform to the Technical Specification Transport and Main Roads Specification MRTS05 Unbound Pavements November 2018. A range of materials available

Type 2 - A high quality unbound granular pavement material, for use in base, sub-base and lower pavement layers, commonly used in wet environments.

CBR15 - 19mm
CBR 80 - 20mm
Roadbase Type 2.3
Roadbase Type 2.5

Type 3 - Similar to Type 2, except intended for use in relatively dry environments only where the pavement equilibrium moisture content is low

PRE-COATED CHIPS

Cover aggregate and prime cover material for use in sprayed bituminous treatments, and the construction of stockpile sites for storage of cover aggregate.

A range of materials available
Available in 7mm and 10mm sizes
Pre-coated chips must conform to the Technical Specification Transport and Main Roads Specifications MRTS22 Supply of Cover Aggregate November 2018

WASHED AGGREGATE

Coarse aggregates consist of crushed fragments that are clean, sound, hard, durable, and angular and free from laminated particles, clay and other aggregations of fine material, soil, organic matter. Coarse aggregates must conform to the requirements of Technical Specification Transport and Main Roads Specifications MRTS35 Recycled Material Blends for Pavements November 2018

A range of materials available
Available in 7mm, 10mm, 14mm

DRAINAGE AGGREGATES

Aggregates used in subbase applications generally consist of sand and gravel, crushed stone or quarry rock, or other hard, durable material of mineral origin with the amount of fines limited to promote drainage.

A range of materials available
Available in 7mm, 10mm, 14mm, 20mm, 35mm & 70mm sizes
